2. There’s something about us having a new baby and the AC breaking at the same time. It broke when Emilia was a few months old, and it’s broken again now. It’s SUPER FUN let me tell you.

3. 10 things you won’t regret spending money on. I love this.

4. June means the return of our giant fruit platters for the summer! I love making these for after dinner or on the weekends to snack on all day. Everyone loves them too.

5. TV things! I tried to get into Cruel Summer and just… couldn’t do it. I had a hard time following it at first and it just didn’t pull me in. I did finish Hacks which was so, SO good. We are DYING for Yellowstone to come back. It’s always been our summer show and we’ve watched it since the first episode released. So bummed it doesn’t appear to be coming back until later!

6. Have you found any amazing prime day deals? All I want is the pebble ice maker but I have no where to put it right now.

7. See also: I need absolutely nothing!

8. Sunday rituals to set you up for an amazing week. Bye bye Sunday scaries.

9. This is now the first time in 7+ years I haven’t been pregnant/trying to get pregnant and I am tempted to get rid of nearly everything in my closet! It’s a bit soon but I still feel the urge to throw everything in a huge bag and donate. I may do the trick where you pack it all up then set it aside for 3 months and if you haven’t thought about it, give it away.

It was our first full week as a family of five!

Still totally blows my mind. I’ve never been so happy to have someone here three weeks early!

Post dinner patio ice cream cone dates.

He is obsessed with him.

Perfect little french braids.

I love putting my babies snuggled up with in my shirt.

Smoothie bowls saving me this week.

The best big bro.

Living on this too.

The sweetest.

On Friday, we had my brother’s wedding! Yes, the one I didn’t want to a.) be pregnant for and b.) be due near. Ha!

Cutest cousins.

These babes were just the best.

Other than that it’s been 24/7 snuggles with this guy.

The minute I set him on his back, he rolls to his side! It scares the crap out of me but the doctor said he must have been positioned this way in the womb. He’s such a snuggle bug.

Celebrated father’s day today with the best dad ever! I might have a heart attack when he goes back to work tomorrow.

The kids have been begging to paint for days.

So serious.

Played outside too!

I can’t handle them.

We made my root beer ribs and grilled potatoes and corn for dinner!

Plus shishito peppers… YES.

Now it’s back to snuggle city with this babe!

1. Finally got our hands on some local strawberries and we were barely in the parking lot when Emilia was eating them right from the crate. Girl after my own heart! Whyyyy are they the best fruit ever in season?

2. OMG. I am so craving these kale pesto and cheese stuffed shells. Yum.

3. Current favorite salad combo right now: spring greens, crispy chicken (like my chicken tenders or even the ALDI red bag chicken), blue cheese, cherries, some sort of nuts and my creamy balsamic dressing. I can’t get enough.

4. 10 ways to bring more calm into your home. Love it. Especially because ours currently looks like a bomb went off.

5. TV things! I mentioned it in last week’s summer fridays post that I wanted to start watching Hacks! And I have, now that I have some time on the couch… ha. It’s so good. I’m also thinking I might binge Cruel Summer?

6. Speaking of – this is so good: on the unexpected delights of Hacks.

7. Over the last 15 months I’ve actually become friends with my shipt shopper for Target. This is life now.

8. Everyone always tells you “oh don’t worry if you’re not ready for when the baby comes! they don’t need anything but you!” and I mean, while I agree to a point, let’s just say for a type A planner it is verrrry nice to have organization to come home to. Pretty much feels like we will have things set up and organized… maybe by 2023 at this point.

A day late, but I couldn’t let this week go by without a photo diary!

Because little did I know, we would grow by one! Ohhhhh my gosh. But first, it was a big week to begin with.

This past week was hot hot hot!

Popsicles all around.

And Max had his last day of kindergarten. I have basically been a basketcase over it for two weeks.

This one’s just a little bit excited to head to preschool in the fall.

Emilia and I went and got local farm fresh asparagus and strawberries.

Probably her favorite food!

Um little did I know that this panera salad in the school car pick up line would be my last pregnancy meal!

Because then we had a baby!

Three weeks early was not what I ever expected and let’s just say we weren’t prepared at ALL, haha.

These two had a blast while we were in the hospital and we so taken care of.

Little favorites!!

While we got in lots of snuggle time before going home.

I really thought I was having a girl so this was the most wonderful surprise! I’ll be posting Jordan’s birth story on the baby page soon!

We had some welcome home art!

And the best welcoming committee.

My boys!

And the best helper baby girl.

We just want to eat him up! More to come. :)

1. You guys how is this year already HALF over! I mean, what is happening.

2. Strawberry pop tart shortbread. What! This is amazing.

3. So thankful we don’t have the cicadas right outside our house (yet?!). Please tell me you remember a few years ago when they bombarded us when Max was one year old and they landed all over us (and him) and I had about 40 heart attacks. They need to be gone soon!

4. How to combat that zero motivation feeling.

5. Can someone please tell me how to deal with laundry as a family of five? Pretty sure my mom just did it almost every single day, all day. I mean, this is probably what I fear most. And Eddie already does a lot of the laundry in our house. Ha!

6. TV things!! Okay I finally watched the Friends reunion and it did give me all the feels. Especially the Jennifer Aniston/David Schwimmer stuff! What did you think of the Grey’s finale? I liked that they finally did a time jump. 100% think Jo and another certain character will end up together…

7. With both of my last pregnancies I got super hungry towards the end and right now I am craving ice cream like whoa. I haven’t even had any good ice cream yet and it’s been, like, a week. Of course do I have the mini magnum ice cream bars in my target cart for delivery? Of course.

8. Also typical third child: 37 weeks and have no hospital bag packed. Eeeek!

9. This is SO good: what have I missed out on this year.

10. Everyday Dinners cookbook club is GOLD right now. Have you joined yet?!

Our first real summer weekend!

I barely have any pics this week! It’s basically kid overload – I didn’t take one photo of food either.

It was a shorter week with Memorial Day but a great one. I spent the week working a ton, getting summer content ready for when the baby comes. And then lots of things with the end of school and what not! Woohoo! This whole weekend was hot and gorgeous and quintessential summer.

Emilia pushing baby Cooper while we worked earlier this week! This convinced me that I need the Doona, haha.

Some friends with the best baby cake ever!

A post school Target trip.

And time for a pool day!

Too cool for school. Wasn’t really cool at all though… like 88 degrees.

Need this suit in my size, clearly.

Baby watch!! Getting down to the wire here. At least it feels like it. I guess it could be tomorrow… or in four weeks.

I love his hair here. He looks like he is 16 which kills me.

what i read in may 2021

I can’t believe June is here!! It might be my most favorite reading month ever because so many great books are being released. May was a great reading month in terms of books I enjoyed – I really liked most of them. What are you most excited to read right now? I love to hear your suggestions below!

If you haven’t seen it yet, you can find my summer reading list HERE! It’s one of my favorite posts of the whole year.

While I’m keeping my reviews here on the blog, remember that you can follow the goodreads account with what I’m reading, so you can see what I read in real time. My kindle app hasn’t been connecting to my goodreads account (it used to auto update every time I started/finished a book!) so I’ve been manually trying to keep up with it.

You can also join the book club! We have the instagram and secret facebook group here. All of the book club interactions have really been taking place in the FB group!

You can find my reading lists here and previous What I Read posts here. I’d love to hear below what you read this month!

WHAT I READ IN MAY 2021

The Soulmate Equation – 4 stars

Couldn’t wait to read this one – it was one I was looking forward to all year. The story is about a dating app that successful matches rely on DNA and gene matches. It’s interesting and cute! It follows a single mother who decides on a whim to send in her DNA on a whim and is shocked at what she gets in return. It’s really cute and fun and light and uplighting. Definitely enjoyed it.

That Summer – 4 stars

I was super excited for this one too! I live for Jennifer Weiner’s books. This one took me a while to get into. I didn’t love the characters. The story follows Daisy and Diana who have an “accidental” meeting via email, but it’s really not that accidental. It is definitely a story with serious undertones and many heartbreaking things happen that determine the future of the characters. I did like the ending and find it very satisfying!

The Last Thing He Told Me – 4 stars

Was feeling a little thriller-y this month and I blew through this one. It was super good. The story is about man who completely disappears and leaves his wife along with his teenage daughter with no information. They attempt to figure out what has happened and uncover a ton of truths. It’s a quick read, not overly scary or anything (I’m a baby) and the ending is good too.

People We Meet On Vacation – 5 stars

Oh my gosh, I can’t even HANDLE how much I loved this book. I am one of the ones who LOVED Beach Read last year, so I was waiting and waiting for this book to come out. The story follows a man + women who have a platonic but very close friendship and travel together every summer. It jumps back and forth from present day to previous trips and I just loved it so much. It was so good, the ending was satisfying and still realistic. I absolutely LOVED it.

The Hunting Wives – 3 Stars

I had a hard time getting into this one, but once I did, it was a pretty quick read. The story follows a few different women who are part of the Hunting Wives club. I just didn’t love any of these characters! It did keep me on my toes at points and I wanted to see what happened, but I ultimately didn’t LOVE it.

1. I’m such a weird mix of emotions since the baby is almost here! I’m excited for summer with the kids but also have no idea what summer will look like. It’s crazy that this baby is almost an exact six month difference from the time of year I had the other two. Let’s just say I’m very glad I will be able to take walks since it won’t be December!

2. I’d say we’ve officially hit the ice-cream-is-an-acceptable-dinner season.

3. Today kicks off a new month of challenges for our everyday dinners cookbook club. Join now if you have a book!

4. Ummm these peanut butter cup stuffed cookies look insane!

5. TV things!! Ohhhh my gosh the Mare of Easttown finale. I knew something had to happen halfway through when it already seemed “over.” The ending just killed me. I couldn’t handle it! I still haven’t watched the Friends reunion yet.

6. 50 positive affirmations to tell yourself. I love this!

7. Nespresso has coconut coffee (to make over ice!) and it’s pretty much my new favorite thing. Super good and you know the issues I’ve been having with liking coffee right now.

8. I love this. You can never escape yourself. So be someone you’re happy with!

9. Pretty sure the most adult thing ever is when I pack up a “car essentials” basket for the back of the my car in the summer and get excited about it.

10. My favorite ever visor is this one and it always sells out in the summer. I LIVE IN THIS THING. I mean it’s amazing for pool/beach, but also just great for being outside in general if you like to keep the sun off your face.

What a lovely week!

It actually poured here all week and was semi-freezing most of the weekend, but perked up today! Here’s what we did.

Max wanted to do his “serious” pose for the (sad) pens playoff game. Made his sister dress up too! Also, please note our christmas pictures still hung up in the background. Max colors pages of things or draws stuff himself, gets tape and hangs the stuff ALL OVER THE HOUSE. I leave them. They’re everywhere.

Pretty sure she really is counting down the days until Max is done with school. She needs her playmate!

I wish I felt this way about going to the dentist.

Or this way.

Or this way!

Playground tour before the storm. What is this amazing pose?

Plus a scavenger hunt.

Made my grilled veg orzo!

It’s seriously one of our favorite dishes ever. I could make it every week.

We had a cousin filled weekend! Lots of dress up. Also why does Max look like he’s 12?

I tried the coconut nespresso! It’s really good.

The most amazing watermelon. Tasted like heaven.

I made a berry trifle!

Eddie did Emilia’s nails.

And we got to go to our memorial day parade… we were so excited it was back!

Cousin BFFs.

Emilia was very into pushing baby cooper in the swing!

I’d say we’re all ready for summer.
