Our first real summer weekend!

I barely have any pics this week! It’s basically kid overload – I didn’t take one photo of food either.

It was a shorter week with Memorial Day but a great one. I spent the week working a ton, getting summer content ready for when the baby comes. And then lots of things with the end of school and what not! Woohoo! This whole weekend was hot and gorgeous and quintessential summer.

Emilia pushing baby Cooper while we worked earlier this week! This convinced me that I need the Doona, haha.

Some friends with the best baby cake ever!

A post school Target trip.

And time for a pool day!

Too cool for school. Wasn’t really cool at all though… like 88 degrees.

Need this suit in my size, clearly.

Baby watch!! Getting down to the wire here. At least it feels like it. I guess it could be tomorrow… or in four weeks.

I love his hair here. He looks like he is 16 which kills me.

What a lovely week!

It actually poured here all week and was semi-freezing most of the weekend, but perked up today! Here’s what we did.

Max wanted to do his “serious” pose for the (sad) pens playoff game. Made his sister dress up too! Also, please note our christmas pictures still hung up in the background. Max colors pages of things or draws stuff himself, gets tape and hangs the stuff ALL OVER THE HOUSE. I leave them. They’re everywhere.

Pretty sure she really is counting down the days until Max is done with school. She needs her playmate!

I wish I felt this way about going to the dentist.

Or this way.

Or this way!

Playground tour before the storm. What is this amazing pose?

Plus a scavenger hunt.

Made my grilled veg orzo!

It’s seriously one of our favorite dishes ever. I could make it every week.

We had a cousin filled weekend! Lots of dress up. Also why does Max look like he’s 12?

I tried the coconut nespresso! It’s really good.

The most amazing watermelon. Tasted like heaven.

I made a berry trifle!

Eddie did Emilia’s nails.

And we got to go to our memorial day parade… we were so excited it was back!

Cousin BFFs.

Emilia was very into pushing baby cooper in the swing!

I’d say we’re all ready for summer.

We had another wonderful full week.

I am so weirdly emotional going through these photos and uploading them here! We had such a great week and we are coming down to our last few weeks of a family of four.

This girl is the best.

Made Eddie’s dream meal one night.

Then I tried to make sourdough pizza dough again.

Eh, it was okay. Not the best.

Accessorize!

We had to run to the mall on Thursday and you would have thought the kids were in disney world. They were so excited to walk around! And then Max found this shirt in Old Navy and was thrilled. Both kids love Jurassic Park (and dinos in general) so we had to get matching.

He wore it to school the next day… Eddie said he looked like Miami Vice. Ha. I love that he picked out those shorts to match!

One of my friends came over for lunch and brought this salad. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. I cannot stop thinking about it. Made it for lunch again today. I am going to make it here for you because you need it in your life.

My chives are OUT OF CONTROL!! I haven’t planted these in 3ish years or so. They just come back this strong every year!

Dinner outside.

Jurassic park shirt #2!

I got most of my plants planted, as well as my herbs! On a roll here. Also hoping it doesn’t send me into labor!

He picks the best outfits!

Still loving makeup.

On Saturday, Lacy threw the most wonderful little sprinkle for the new babe and me! It was amazing.

This little bug loved her girls day.

She had so much incredible food. Some of our favorites from Morcilla (the gem salad, the manchego!) and smash burgers from Acorn with the best fries. She also made my caramelized onion dip and had incredible treats from 350 bakery. Their strawberry pop tarts are insane.

It was just so thoughtful and wonderful.

Today we had more baseball! She loves watching Max and also running the bases. She can’t play until she’s four, so maybe next spring!

It was just a leeeeettle hot. Like 88 degrees!

This is how we felt about that. I need to bring a spray bottle of water for us, haha.

Then we took some of my chives and did the Ina Garten chive bouquet! Brilliance.

My blossoms are at end of their life but this still brought so much joy!

Lacy gave me the rest of the marcona almonds to take home from the party yesterday. These are from morcilla and I have made them many times but am never happy with the photos! They are SO fantastic though.

The kids dug some dino eggs. These are the ones I talked about in my may favorites.

Annnnnd we finished off the night with tacos. How was your weekend?!

A Week In The Life, Vol 20.

How are we 20 weeks into this year?! It’s crazy. This week was a little crazy again as I had a ton of book stuff to do behind the scenes. I’m also having a minor heart attack because I’m almost 34 weeks now and don’t really have much of anything done! Eeeeep! Max had two […]

This week was a little crazy again as I had a ton of book stuff to do behind the scenes. I’m also having a minor heart attack because I’m almost 34 weeks now and don’t really have much of anything done! Eeeeep!

Max had two baseball games at the start of the week and it was FREEZING! We actually wore winter coats, ha!

He looks 30 years old in this pic to me.

My chives are starting to bloom this week! Love them for recipes.

Park lunch.

Made the best chicken of life one night. It’s so good.

Then is got warm again. Pretty sure Emilia is counting down the days until Max is done with school!

More outdoor lunch!

She thinks the baby is right inside my belly button and that she can see it/touch it there. Too cute.

We also had my future SIL’s bridal shower this weekend! Remember last year that they cancelled their wedding due to the pandemic. They moved it back one year, and it’s almost time!

Oh we also had her bachelorette party so this is appropriate, right?

Kind of the first taste of summery food, outside this year!

Then I finally got some herbs to plant! The only thing I’m successful at keeping alive in the soil. How was your weekend?!

It’s been a crazy week! With the launch of Everyday Dinners, I realized a few hours ago that I took nearly zero photos this week. Eeeep! Here’s what this week looked like. It’s been a crazy week!

With the launch of Everyday Dinners, I realized a few hours ago that I took nearly zero photos this week. Eeeep! Here’s what this week looked like.

My only half-selfie on book release day! It was such an amazing week. Super busy but wonderful.

Early in the week, the kids requested mini pizzas! So we made some.

Emilia is meticulous with her painting skills.

And her playground skills. We got some fresh air while Max was at school.

I essentially have a botanical garden in my home right now, courtesy of family and friends on book launch day and it’s lovely.

Max had a hockey game!

Then we got post hockey shakes.

Cutest ever.

I made the chipotle blue cheese dutch baby from the book. Ohhhhh my gosh it’s so wonderful.

And we made blueberry pancakes for mother’s day, one of the kids’ favorite foods!

The weather was super rainy, dark and cold today and we.did.nothing. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. I read almost an entire book and we all just snuggled on the couch and watched movies in between meals. It was the perfect mother’s day. Thank you for making this weekend the best ever, too!

Ice cream cones for dessert one night!

I reeeeeallly want to go crazy and buy my plants but we still have a few cold nights ahead.

Max picked me these little flowers though from the year. Haha.

The glamorous laundry life. We’ve had two of those weeks where the kids have more clean clothes in laundry baskets than in their rooms. Ooops.

Cheese.

His hair curl! I can’t.

My chives are out of the control – the blossoms in the spring are my favorite part.

Baseball boy!

I signed a ton of your preorders this week!! It was amazing and wonderful and THANK YOU.

Took some lunch to go from Mediterra again.

This is my idea of heaven.

I would like her entire outfit.

Max in goal!

Her little bun hugging the bump. I love.

Then we got lunch and ice cream after! It was a two ice cream week.

This is making me hungry.

Threw together some egg salad for the week!

And the kids’ favorite banana muffins.

This picture of my books made me so weirdly emotional! I can’t believe there are three and that you can get the new one this weeke.

Finished off the week with some chalk art by Eddie.

Max requested luigi and yoshi, so here we are! xo

It was another lovely week!

My heart!!!

I love this. She played with her tractors outside one day while…

Max sat and read his book. They are my favorite humans ever.

Basically one of the only things I made for dinner this week!

Still very into doing makeup together.

The prettiest blooms!

I went to my favorite local bookshop to sign the cookbooks you ordered!! Thank youuuu!

I did a few hundred and am going back to sign the rest one more time this week. So if you’d like a signed copy for launch day or in time for Mother’s Day, there are still a few days until I sign! Go and order one here!

Had to stop at Mediterra for some coffee and treats for the weeekend.

Woohoo!

Max had a hockey game!

And then… we actually WENT to a Pens game!

I can’t express how incredible this was. Capacity is only at 15%, so it seriously feels like you’re at a private event. I not-so-secretly wish it was always like this?!

Hugs for the bump.

I can’t get over what a good time we had and how safe this felt! Everything is self check in or self check out. You really have zero contact with anyone except for who you’re sitting with and the ushers are very vigilant about masks.

Today we spent a ton of time doing some book stuff – the launch is SO CLOSE! Onto another week…

Another April week in the books! These two crack me up!! They insisted they bring their notepads and pencils/crayons on a car ride today. Living for all the blooms! My allergies are not. House salad for the win! Should I do a more in-depth post on my house salads? Haha. I have about 4 or […]

Another April week in the books!

These two crack me up!!

They insisted they bring their notepads and pencils/crayons on a car ride today.

Living for all the blooms! My allergies are not.

House salad for the win! Should I do a more in-depth post on my house salads? Haha. I have about 4 or 5 on the site that I use depending on what else I’m serving and the season.

A big old pan of baked spaghetti, the amazing garlic bread from Everyday Dinners, a house salad and some pineapple. The pineapple is SO GOOD right now.

This babe looks like he is 15. Kills me.

Okay so I weirdly love this. There are a ton of seeds but aside from that, I loved it. Have you tried it yet?! I think it’s a love or hate thing.

Emilia and I went to Target and we hadn’t been there in forever. The entire time she was like “wow!”, “mama look at this it’s so beautiful!” and I mean she would say it about socks and underwear. She is my spirit animal.

Max got a haircut!

We ventured to Cleveland…

To celebrate my niece Violet’s 2nd birthday!!

This funfetti cake with chocolate was amazing.

Both kids have been so loving and affectionate over the last few weeks, at different times. I wonder if it’s because in a way, they sense the baby is coming?! Max is always insanely affectionate but he has been on another level. I’m not complaining at all. I love it!

Mini fontinella bagel pizzas from Everyday Dinners too!! Made these last week and we love them!

This is her one eyed “cheese.” I mean, how is it possible to be this obsessed with your kids? Asking for a friend.

Have a lovely week!

It was another beautiful week here!

Max had half the week off from school for easter/spring break and it was just gorgeous out. The kids had so much fun together that it has me super excited for summer.

I want her exact sunglasses in my size.

Max was verrrry excited about this lifesize yoshi chalk drawing!

I grilled dinner so many nights this week. Whyyyyy is asparagus on the grill just so darn good?

Everything is blooming like crazy.

Bubble fun! The easter bunny brought some of these huge bubble wands.

Emilia and I ran to the greenhouse because I wanted to get ice plant before it sells out. It sells out by May, every year like clockwork. Now I just have to keep it alive for another month until I can plant it.

I’ve never been to a greenhouse this early in the year – it was crazy how un-bloomed everything was!

Cutest little deck hockey bubba.

Emilia is obsessed with watching him and screaming his name. It kills me,

How much more neon can we get?!

I love this picture I captured.

I love this one even more! If you grew up with a love of reading, is there any better sight than this?!

I had a great reading weekend too!

Best little helper. This is the ice plant! Kind of looks like a succulent but isn’t. Gets really cute hot pink flowers in the summer.

This is the real athlete of the family?

Finally made my grilled vegetable orzo for dinner.

IT WAS HEAVEN!

How was your weekend?! I hope you have a great week!

It was such a good one!

These two!!

Our week was so nice. Aside from a random snow storm!

We dyed eggs, one of our favorite things!

This is Emilia’s new pose and I have no idea where it came from. Kills me.

Pro tip: leave your eggs in the dye for at least an hour and they will be this bold.

Speaking of loving bright colors!

She still loves to do makeup too.

Made my easter snack mix.

Did some crafts!

My current obsession? English muffins with the american spoon almond butter.

We visited baby Cooper!!

Had smoothie bowls.

Got color-changing raincoats and wore them in the snow.

Had a cousin easter egg hunt!

Cutest cookies ever.

Eddie has set up this egg hunt for Max since he was 2. It’s always so fun.

Just the sweetest!

All the goods.

This morning the kids were so excited!

These dino eggs were a big hit.

This easter was nicer than last. All of our family members are fully vaccinated now so we got to see each other.

How do they even exist?! I can’t handle them. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
