I know that it’s not quite November yet, but what can I say? I’m already thinking about Thanksgiving.

Recipes like pumpkin cheesecake, Jiffy corn casserole, homemade cranberry sauce, and garlic mashed potatoes are obvious staples on our Thanksgiving table. But it’s also fun to switch things up with something new each year.

This butternut squash soup recipe is originally from my friend Emily at Jelly Toast, and is as great for weeknight dinner as it is for a holiday starter course.

Its flavor is rich and complex with a combo of sweet and savory ingredients. Combined with the silky smooth texture, this soup feels totally fancy but is super simple to make!

Give this savory-sweet soup a try next time you have some beautiful butternut squash on your hands – you’ll be glad you did.

Is there anything that screams fall more than apple pie?

There’s just something special about the combo of flaky pastry, tart apples, and warm spices that makes me feel happy from the inside out.

Last year I was all about making apple crumb pie, and this year I am all about making these little apple hand pies.

They are so much fun to make, and who doesn’t love a mini dessert?

In fact, I think they’d be right at home on your Thanksgiving menu alongside mini pecan pies. How cute would it be to have a whole lineup of mini pies for dessert?

As if fall wasn’t already busy enough, we are adding to the madness with a bathroom remodel and some other work around the house.

So my week is spent trying to calm a dog who is anxious about the construction work and trying to figure out if the shipping company really lost our new bathtub on top of all of the normal stuff.

I’m really looking forward to a peaceful weekend morning, ok?

I think this weekend is due for a batch of pumpkin pancakes, a cup of coffee with homemade vanilla coffee syrup, and maybe a trip to the apple orchard.

Sounds like a pretty perfect weekend to me.

It’s finally chilly here in Ohio, which means it’s almost time for sweater weather, fall decorating, and pumpkin spice everything.

I may have put out all my fall decor weeks ago, but I’m so glad it’s finally appropriate now. I couldn’t wait anymore!

One of my absolute favorite things about fall is our annual trip to the orchard. We round up the family to spend the afternoon together picking apples, going on hay rides, and winding our way through the corn maze.

And although I adore all of those things, my absolute favorite thing about our day at the orchard are warm apple cider donuts served up with a piping hot cup of spiced apple cider.

These sweet apple cider donuts are everything you want in a fall treat. Whip them up before a chilly day out enjoying the fall leaves, or make them at night to go with a fun fall movie and some popcorn.

I can’t imagine a more cozy evening!

I’ve never met a potato that I didn’t like.

Knowing how to bake potatoes is obviously a must, and I can’t get enough of Garlic Mashed Potatoes or Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes

And that’s not even mentioning tots. Let’s just say we could have a sub-site called My Tater Tot Addiction without much effort.

Growing up, scalloped potatoes often frequented our dinner table and were usually peppered with pieces of leftover ham or slices of kielbasa. It was a quick, inexpensive dinner that was sure to please everyone around the table.

I remember searching for a homemade scalloped potatoes recipe a number of years ago. I actually remember doubting the recipes because I thought there was no way something so incredibly rich, decadent and delicious could be so simple. I was wrong.

Homemade Scalloped Potatoes are not only easy, they are also quite inexpensive and versatile. The beauty of scalloped potatoes is that although they are simple and economical, they can also be quite impressive – which makes them perfect for gracing any holiday table from Easter to Christmas.

As soon as Christmas is over, I pretty much go from baking up all the sweets to full-on soup mode.

If you find yourself counting down the days until you can get your hands on Cranberry Bliss Bars, this copycat recipe is exactly what you need to enjoy them at home any time of the year.

Three cranberry bliss bars arranged on a white plate, with a bite taken out of one of them

I used to count down the days until I could buy the Starbucks Cranberry Bliss Bar. But now I have my own recipe, and honestly, it’s even better!

Cranberry is such a wonderful flavor that deserves more attention all year long. I’m not complaining about it getting its due in winter, though.

The flavors in these cranberry bars are similar to another copycat recipe of mine, glazed orange scones, as well as my cranberry orange bread and cranberry orange cinnamon rolls.

What can I say, I love the combo of cranberry and orange!

Four pumpkin oatmeal cookies stacked next to a glass of milk

I’m starting to get into cookie mode over here. While in the school pickup line the other day, I made a list of all of the cookie recipes that I want to bake over the holidays.

I must say that I have a pretty good list going with everything from Peanut Butter Blossoms and Crispy Ginger Cookies to these pretty Snowflake Sugar Cookies and classic Gingerbread Cookies.

But before I head into full-on Christmas cookie mode, I decided to whip up a couple of batches of cookies that are full of festive fall flavors.

Pumpkin cookies are a go-to every fall. I’ve made them even better with my favorite cookie add-ins!
