Another week in the books!

This week was all about getting back in the swing of things after vacation and getting a few things ready for the school year.

Very into wearing hats because she wants to do everything Max does.

Same!

Jordan begs for this hat to be put on his head backwards everyday. He wears it for a long time too! It’s hilarious.

Love bugs.

I made a big batch of my egg salad.

We “did makeup.”

She told me she is rainbow dash from my little pony!

Roasted some garlic one day.

And made roasted garlic butter!

Grilled potatoes for my gorgonzola potatoes.

And grilled lots of asparagus too. This is one of the kids’ favorites.

Had to finish things off with s’more to make it feel like vacation again.

Emilia woke Max up one morning begging him to build this lego for her.

Eddie and I saw Billy Joel!!

I got this ridiculously overpriced terrible margarita and I don’t know why.

The night was GORGEOUS. It was like 65 degrees with a stunning sunset. It was actually cool too.

The concert was good. This is the third concert we’ve been to in nine months which is hilarious because we are not concert people at all. I think being stuck inside for so long made us lose our minds. But Eddie has always wanted to see Billy Joel so we crossed it off the bucket list.

Marinated tomato season!!

And made a delicious dinner tonight with all the summer produce.

I can’t believe we’re coming to the finish line for summer break.

How are these lovebugs mine!?!?!

One last peach cobbler for summer – pretty sure it’s the end of the good peaches for us here.

Another week in our favorite place!

We had amazing weather for our vacation last week in Boyne City! We had two cloudy-with-some-rain days but it was actually perfect – they broke up the super long beach days.

Brother love.

Jordan thought this was the funniest thing on earth.

Best girl!

Yacht club Jordan in this outfit, right?

Just matching the exterior for lunch.

Searching for petoskey stones.

Demanding he be chased everywhere!

This is the life.

So is this.

And this!

Rain out over the lake.

S’mores ready.

Rainy days make the best sunsets.

No filter!!!

And the next morning is even better.

I took the same photo last year.

Breakfast of champions.

Emilia still calls whipped cream “shaving cream” in case you were wondering.

Caught one!

And Emilia too.

Max spent all day in the sand “building Cairo.”

Cousin love.

I gave this baby a waffle fry.

Kilwin’s cake batter. Chocolate PB is still my fave.

I cannot with these teeth and the gap.

Matching for life!

One more cloudy day.

Still so gorgeous though.

And windy!

How are these babies mine!

One of my favorite sights.

Loves a swing.

Also just needed to take a break for a minute, haha.

Early morning strolls are the best.

Smiling but very sad it’s our last day!

Cutest cousin babies.

More building for hours.

And the perfect day! Look at that sparkle water.

This trampoline is a blast.

And that’s a wrap on the trip!

Back home with all the snuggles.

Hello from my favorite place!

When the week ends here, it can’t be bad. Here’s how it started…

Max had golf camp.

Jordan ate a lime.

And helped with the laundry.

Emilia loved going to Max’s golf so she could play on this bridge.

I printed out my banana bread recipe and Max made it himself.

Then at the end of the week, we left for vacation!

Road trip! Also can I just tell you that Max tucking in his shirt is my favorite thing of life

Jordan was… not the most pleasant traveler! Oh well, it was bound to happen after 3 kids, right?

Then we made it to Michigan!

Met up with cousins!

Scoot scoot.

Got ice cream.

Threw rocks in the lake.

Had so much fun! Please note Emilia’s outfit.

This entire weekend has been so gorgeous.

Walking in the morning is our fave.

Went to our favorite farmer’s market too.

Sat on the beach and ate all the snacks.

Cutest boy.

Someone loves the water!

Happy happy.

Caught big fish!

Made s’mores. I have an almost identical pic from her last year!

The home of my favorite sunsets.

This chai tea latte… omg.

Baguettes for the win.

Cuties.

This water is just so gorgeous!

Max lives for a tortilla chip.

Pit stop for lunch.

With all the tacos.

These girls are having so much fun!

Swim party with Uncle Will.

Today was so nice.

We brought the cutest vacation cookies from my friend Micah.

They are so pretty.

Ending with the prettiest!

All the heart eyes here.

Emilia always asks Eddie for an early morning walk.

Caladiums are my favorite.

Siblings.

My sparkly boy.

Emilia calls the steps the white water.

Look at Jordan’s curls!

Baby Coop with her nectarine!! I can’t even handle it.

Water table cousin fun.

We swam the next day too and this was Emilia’s response to “I don’t need a nap.”

She is my style icon.

Rainbow tattoos for the win.

I had to get a new tire. Fun!

AND my computer died too. What a week.

This hockey view.

Someone had the giggles.

I loved this red outfit that Max put together. Even if it made Eddie crazy because he mixed Nike, Adidas and UA.

Then he asked to pose, ha! I may frame this.

Happy Sunday from us!

Hello, another week!

Every week when I start these posts, I’m like, oh my gosh, it’s already the 29th week of the year… and so on. How does time fly so much!

Emilia did a tennis camp this week. She loved it!

Both kids have now been playing tennis outside every morning and afternoon. It’s the first thing they want to do when they wake up.

Made a batch of vodka sauce.

This child is climbing up things Max didn’t climb until he was 18 months, at least.

Lives for a baguette.

And matches a vibrant summer patio!

My little hockey player.

Jordan’s first time at a grocery store, in a cart, and has no idea what to do with his feet.

Popsicles on the porch.

Emilia loves to sit here and play at the water table for hours. Truly she can sit here for two hours and play alone, happy as a clam.

Reusable water balloons for the win.

She had a blast at tennis…

And lived for the playground after.

My little Jack Jack!

We ran to Barnes and Noble and Max was like “mama why is your book here in this STORE?!” Nevermind that he’s seen it in multiple stores before, but I think it finally clicked.

They gave us samples of strawberry lemonade.

Max is obsessed with different countries and states, geography, flags, etc right now. He was very excited about this puzzle and couldn’t wait to put it together.

Then we celebrated my niece Evelyn’s birthday!! Cousins!!

NINE kids. Eight of them are under the age of five. Eeeep.

We grilled smoked turkey sausage…

And made my grilled vegetable orzo. And that’s the week!

Jordan LOVED the peach truck peaches.

Then we were off to Columbus for my cousin Chris’s wedding.

They are now obsessed with hotels.

Him too.

Do you think she loves her big bro?

How are these little humans mine?

Again with the pose! Now the crossed feet! I can’t handle it.

Rehearsal dinner was so fun.

First time trying a shirley temple!

They haven’t had soda before and don’t love carbonated water but they did like this. It was so cute!

My favorite thing is laying in bed with them on weekend mornings.

We got the breakfast sandwich at northstar cafe.

Then it was time to head to the wedding!

I think I will forever remember him in this moment at this age.

Everything was so lovely!

Emilia and baby Cooper ran circles around each other.

Sweetest.

Still the sweetest.

Brunch this morning.

Cousin love.

The cutest bunch.

Jordy and the groom!

Home and back to the routine!

Here’s what we did this week!

Park fun!

Jordan wants to eat all the blankets.

Playing grandma’s piano.

Emilia loves it.

These two made cookie bars to take to a friend’s pool.

Think she’s having fun?

Cookie bars were a hit!

Backyard fun.

Lots of sand fun too.

Max and I went and picked up peaches from the peach truck!

So good.

He insisted on making a “fancy” fruit plate to go with our dinner. So cute.

And proud!

Emilia came with me to get my hair done.

And got a little trim too!

These poses are killing me. I do not know where she learned this!

Took all the kids to the mall!

This is Emilia trying to convince Max to give her hug. Ha.

Um she liked it.

Made many peach cobblers with those peaches.

My baby!

He’s the babiest baby to ever be here. He is just such a BABY. I love it.

Emilia and I made s’mores bars for another little party.

These are always such a hit too.

I love watching him play hockey.

Emilia built us a campfire while we were reading on the patio.

Peach corn salsa from The Pretty Dish!

I do not even know how I got so lucky.

Best bros. Look at the hands!

More swimming fun!

Always happy with a snack.

Love him.

And him!

Emilia with baby Cooper. Framer!

Cousin love.

This little chunk of love.

Makes every basket like a pro.

Now we’re waiting for fireworks! No idea what this pose is. Haha.

We had a WEEK!

She is my style icon.

The happiest boy!

Monday was amazing. I got to be a part of Elin Hilderbrand’s signing here in Pittsburgh and it was just perfect! We did this once before together but it was over zoom. You may remember that I developed recipes for her book in 2017. The conversation was so great!

Right as I was walking out the door, my little adventurous baby girl walked into a hockey stick.

I was so worked up since I had to leave her right away to go to the event. I was so worried driving to the event. And then, when I got to the event, Eddie texted me that Max caught a baseball at his face during his game and needed stitches. I just about died.

My baby’s perfect face!! I’ve never had stitches before and honestly it was maybe better that I wasn’t there? The ball went into his glove with hit his sunglasses, which sliced his face. He was such a trooper. I still can’t believe it. :(

He got the game ball though – it was his last game – and was in pretty good spirits when I got home. I don’t even know how I managed to do the conversation that night. These are just two crazy things that happened in the last few weeks where both sides of our family has been hit with a lot of health issues. When it rains it pours.

Needless to say, we did mostly indoor activities since Max couldn’t swim or anything!

My kids love to paint and do allll kinds of art.

Lots of snuggles!

We ate lots of pesto. Still have our Jordan birthday party photo decorations up from two weeks ago. Ha.

I found this on my phone. No idea when it was taken.

Then this weekend, we had our school’s picnic at an amusement park.

Stitches out and on the mend.

It was hot but fun!

Emilia looooves being outside.

Hot enough for water bounce house!

Lots of snacks for saturday night. Pulled pork nachos with peach pico.

Some deeeelish mexican street corn.

Our favorite shishitos.

A little margarita after that week!

Christmas PJs in June. Emilia loves when he has his pink on!

We went to see the new Jurassic World!

It was so, so good. The mix of the new and old casts was awesome and the kids love it. Max probably started watching the Jurassic Park movies two or so years ago… Emilia watched by default since she was here. She may love them more than him.

Grateful for the start of a new week!

25 weeks into the year is crazy!

We had a really lovely week and a great father’s day!

Trying out some birthday gifts in our birthday suit.

Summer hockey for Max.

Emilia got the game ball again at her last game of the season! She “didn’t play in the dirt as much” but I’d like you to look closer so you can see how she used her helmet to dig in the dirt and then put it on her head, which resulted in caked-on mud and sand in 95 degree heat.

One year checkup for my big little baby!!

This may be my favorite photo of her of all time.

Baby Coop!!

We took a little staycation to Nemacolin this weekend. It’s less than an hour away.

The kids were soooo excited. Max loves hotels (thanks to hockey tournaments). Emilia has never posed in her life an I am living for this knee pop!

Who are these tiny adults!!

Super pretty.

These painted wings are in one of the hallways and Emilia was OBSESSED with them. She asked for her photo to be taken with “the eagle wings” every time we walked by. I probably have 10 of these!

The sunset that night was insane.

Plus a snuggly baby.

In general she wants her photo taken constantly, then wants to watch the “live” version of it on my iphone. It’s so cute.

A wild game of tic tac toe at breakfast.

Then we went to the pool!

The lazy river was the kids’ favorite part.

I will match them FOREVER. If I can.

Big boy!

Lots of snacks, like this thai chili shrimp.

The pool was sooo warm that it was freezing when we got out! Even though it was in the 80s.

They LOVED it.

This boy is like my little BFF.

I cannot stand how much fun he is right now. Like a little human that can have conversations with me.

Ice cream for the win.

It’s her favorite thing.

More wings.

Emilia also loved these birds in the lobby/sun room.

Max loved that there was a harp!

It was super pretty and fancy and even though I’ve been there a few times in my life, I’ve never actually stayed.

One day we ordered these crazy banana pb pancakes.

And had a tiny baby head at the table! Third child… just eating straight off the table. Sorry Jordy!

Saturday morning it was actually COLD! 50 degrees and major wind. I kinda loved it.

We went cosmic bowling and this was the first time my kids had ever been bowling. Look at the shoes.

You can tell we’re not a bowling family?! Max won with 3 (legit) spares.

They both said this was their favorite part.

She calls these her “puppy dog eyes.”

Another first… the carousel for Emilia! Well, the first that she can remember.

Then time for mini golf! Seriously it was like the best weekend of their lives. There is so much to do for kids!

One last ice cream.

One last wings pic!

I can’t believe they are mine!!!

Then we came home to celebrate father’s day for Eddie!!

I made some grilled chicken, my gorgonzola potatoes and grilled asparagus.

Tasted amazing after eating out every meal the last few days.

And now a new week. xo

I can’t believe my baby is ONE today!

Today is the day, Jordan is officially one year old. FASTEST YEAR OF MY LIFE!!

We had such a lovely week! Here’s how it went.

Perfectly delicious bathtime baby.

A batch of my favorite egg salad.

I made my house salad three times last week. That’s how much we love it!

Foggy early morning to head to the dentist.

My kids weirdly love the dentist.

This was in my tire. Whompwhomp.

My mom and I saw Jersey Boys. I mean, do you guys remember over 10 years ago when I saw it for the first time and talked about it for a year nonstop? While there, I realized that Emilia would probably love the soundtrack. I put it on for her the next morning and she is now obsessed.

Caramelizing some onions for my dip.

I also grilled some zucchini because I made Elin Hilderbrand’s grilled zucchini dip. It’s so good – she posted it a few years ago on IG. You grill 3 or 4 strips of zucchini, then blend them. Add in 1/2 cup sour cream, juice of 1 lime, 1/2 cup mint and lots of salt and pepper. Make it the day before – it gets better as it sits.

My lovebug.

I used a loose theme of “wild one” for Jordan’s birthday – party and event planning is not my forte. But I loved this balloon garland and making them is something I love to do.

Max loves to help too!

Jordan ate a soft pretzel at Max’s baseball game… I was wearing him in the carrier and he was losing.it. Like screaming and crying for the first time ever in the carrier. I thought maybe he wanted my dad, who was in his line of vision. Um, no. He wanted his soft pretzel. Double fisting.

I love watching him!!!

My baby.

His cake!! His little smash cake matched it.

And these amazing cookies, omg. If you are in the Pittsburgh area and want cookies (they taste incredible too!) – reach out to Micah. She is so insanely talented.

The zucchini dip!

Jordan’s party was so fun!

Snow cones for everyone. Except Jordan who didn’t want something that cold… haha.

Max played hockey outside the entire day. I have never seen him play outside for so long.

We got our actual feast from feast on brilliant.

Cutest!

Then it was cake time!!

He loved it.

I still can’t believe he is one. I know it sounds so cliche. Yesterday was harder for me than today, his actual birthday. Something about it being one year that he has officially been with us – today I wasn’t as emotional! Yesterday all I could think of was the anticipation and what I was doing at each moment I looked at the clock exactly one year ago.

I feel like this year was the most intentional we’ve ever lived. It went by so fast but it’s like I remember every single moment. His first birthday represents out first year together as a family of five!

Funfetti for the win.

Morning after. Here we are.

So proud of her makeup.

Birthday PJS!!

She makes him laugh so hard.

Ahhh.

We tried for his one year pic and this is the best we got!

Then we went to Max’s last regular season baseball game!

Ate all the snacks and enjoyed our little sunday!

And now, we’re ONE!
