Lovely week here for #42!

Max had the day off from school on Monday, so I took the kids to triple b farms. They had so much fun!

We literally got lost in the corn maze. I’m not even kidding! Did not think we would find our way out at all.

Even though the events were outside, masks were still required. It was pretty crowded, but easy to distance and my kids love their masks.

I had to make them take them off for this one… ha!

Why are they so big?!

We went on the hayride…

And finished with apple cider donuts!

It was SO fun. Monday is always an insane work day for me but I basically played hooky and we went last minute.

Hmmm what else. I made my tomato soup this past week!

And I made Eddie chicken parm… one of his favorite meals ever.

Emilia wanted to be hidden inside a pillow and blanket fort.

And she has so much fun playing in and collecting leaves.

We made sugar cookies!

I can’t frost to save my life but they were good.

The leaves are the most gorgeous they have been in years!

My mom and I ventured to homegoods and at home. Cutest gingerbread stuff ever.

Promise I’ll stop with the pumpkin spam soon! How was your week?!

A Week In The Life, Vol 41.

What a fun 41st week! I’m so glad I decided to document this year, out of alllll the years. Wowza. Our favorite tree that we see everyday is starting to lose its leaves and I’m so sad! It’s gorgeous. What a fun 41st week! I’m so glad I decided to document this year, out of alllll the years. Wowza.

Our favorite tree that we see everyday is starting to lose its leaves and I’m so sad! It’s gorgeous.

My little dish washing helper. I love it.

Looking through the lakeshore learning catalogue. I can’t even handle them!

Did you even get your car washed if you didn’t take a photo like this during it?

Halloween cookie decorating!

And haircut time for Max. This was only his second hair cut of the entire year!

We went to trax again. It’s my favorite place.

Hers too!

They have apple cider slushies too.

Still grilling our favorite veggies.

This is pumpkin cream gnocchi from DiAnoias. Served in actual pumpkin! We celebrated our wedding anniversary over the weekend and this was basically our dinner. Ha.

And these.

Went on a drive-through hayride with cousins! It was so fun.

Outside my brother’s house… gorgeous.

Pizza the size of his face after hockey.

And I made a batch of my bolognese for sunday dinner! We had it with banza pasta, sourdough, salad – it was perfection.

40 weeks of 2020!

We started the week with this gorgeous view on Monday morning! I see this tree everyday taking Max to school. I love it.

Made a batch and steel cut oats for the week and stirred in pumpkin butter.

It was a gorgeous week, weather wise.

Homework and coloring for everyone.

Takeout arugula parm salad. This was SO good, minus the rather aggressive chunks of onion.

We went to a local farm with some friends and had the place to ourselves for a bit.

The sunglasses + mask situation is a constant battle on my face.

Best sight.

These colors too.

We’ve been enjoying a ridiculous amount of apples around here.

And we all got our flu shots!

Autumn skies are the prettiest, right?! With the crazy dramatic clouds and all the colors.

Spent some time in our old halloween costumes. In case you need a flashback.

Took a little autumn drive too!

In some places, the color was incredible, but for the most part it’s still pretty green.

This makes me want to live in the forest.

I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH!

Chicken tacos for dinner!

And on to the next week.

This is how we spent the last full week of September!

Can’t even handle these two together!!

Made my favorite egg salad for lunches.

Just a part of what I do all week!

I want to frame this photo.

Emilia love to “pretend” sleep.

It took me four tries of photographing the pumpkin lasagna to get the picture I wanted. I scrapped the post early last week so I could reshoot, again!

The cutest hockey boy.

Ventured out and got my hair done!

Emilia had a park play date and we did a little fall craft.

Adore.

Emilia is obsessed with magnatiles right now. Max loved them for years and now they are her favorite thing. Side note: why are kids so obsessed with building and playing on the stairs?!

Last week I actually marinated a big bag of chopped vegetables in balsamic, then grilled them and used them in so many dinner recipes. It was the best idea.

Temps went back up to the 80s (I’m so over it) so that meant lots of outside time.

Takeout mexican, which we haven’t had in weeks!

Egg in the hole for breakfast with fresh sourdough.

Eddie is the best chalk artist!

Last night I made caramelized onion and butternut ravioli with broccoli and a house salad. It was so good!

Seriously cannot believe September is almost over.

They are my life!

Another week of 2020 down.

Is it the longest and shortest year ever? I know.

This photo above – some of the smoke from the fires made its way into our sky too – absolutely crazy.

Um, we cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal! I shot all my photos for Thanksgiving last week and needless to say, everyone around us had food for days.

Who else is watching too much of the home edit? Haha.

In all seriousness, our amazing nanny organized some of the toys and legos this week with Emilia’s help. She is my lifesaver.

Blanched some broccoli for broccoli cheddar pockets.

And I reeeealllly don’t want to tell you how long I wanted in line for this cold brew.

My rosy cheek babe.

Grabbed some sunflowers and eucalyptus at TJ’s this week and it made my day.

Max asked to bake banana bread multiple days last week, so on Friday we finally did it!

It was perfect. Recipe in my first book.

Grabbed a few (too many) pumpkins this weekend!

This is one of my favorite fall views.

Cuties.

Pumpkin patch in 2020.

BFFs for life.

I mean, I can’t handle them!

And today is Eddie’s birthday and we’re celebrating tonight with this cake from milk bar that he wanted! Comes packed really well too. YUM.

It was a huge week around here!

Max had his first day of school. Kindergarten!

How is this even possible?!

It was an amazing week and a hard week. He loves it. He bounds out of bed and is thrilled to be back. Emilia and I miss him so much! Our house seems so weird without him during the day. It’s like my little best friend for the last five years that has done everything with me is now… away for hours every day! It’s sad, but he loves school so, so much. The first day, Emilia literally RAN into his arms the minute he got home. My heart wants to explode just thinking of it.

How is he this big?!

Cuddles before school. I don’t know how long it will take us to get used it.

But the bonus is some one on one time with this babe!

Eggs for dinner is the only meal I remembered to photograph this week.

These are Emilia’s “party puppies.” They were watching all the trucks dig outside for the neighbors who are getting a pool. She is so funny.

Making herself a little snack. These are the knives.

We had some cousin time at one of our favorite farms!

These cuties!!

And this hair. Didn’t really think about how tricky it would be to take out at 9PM after a day of wild playing and exhaustion.

Signs of fall!

This was such an exciting weekend because we got to celebrate Lacy’s (drive by) baby shower!

This crazy cupcake is from bella christie.

We made a balloon garland – OMG it was so, so much easier than I thought!

My uncle threw together these amazing tacos after we set up.

So good.

These lovebugs had the best weekend.

Apple perfection.

How cute were the drive by signs!?

And these cookies… I can’t even. It was a good week!

We had a fun week!

The kids are “hiding” under the umbrellas.

Still making our house salad once a week, at least.

My cutie!

She still has the best style ever.

We decorated for fall!

Obligatory burning of the leaves candle.

Can’t stop with pumpkin cream cold brew.

Made peach cobbler! Probably for the last time this summer. Waaah.

Max is obsessed with ghostbusters right now. He put on these pants so he matched their outfits. Ha.

First pumpkin beer of the season!

Tried this one too and it was terrible – tasted like a dirty dish towel and that’s putting it nicely.

Made a perfect pico with the best local cherry tomatoes.

To throw on top of nachos. SO GOOD.

She could spend all day here.

He and Eddie drew a giant Jurassic park all over the driveway.

I know it’s still summer, but of all times, my dahlias just started blooming again!

We went to meet max’s teacher one day.

These two are having the most fun summer!

Can’t get enough of them.

Kind of crazy to think that there are less than 20 weeks left in the year.

Here’s what we did this week!

I realized it is sort of out last weekend of summer… forever. Ha, not FOREVER forever. But with Max starting kindergarten, from now on we will always have school starting in the fall – like full time school and not preschool just a few hours a week. Does that make sense? It does in my head. HA.

Bike ride time!

And a little picnic.

I made Eddie some stuffed banana peppers.

I have zero interest in this meal, but it’s one of his favorites! He loves it and I surprised him with it one day after work.

Pumpkin cold brew season is back!!

We had a few of the hardest summer rains this week.

And accidentally got caught in one!

Cut a few strawberries ourselves. On an easter plate.

Morning muffins at grandmas with shoes on the wrong feet.

He is the best.

Local tomatoes that literally taste like candy.

A hummus plate from one of our favorite restaurants! I’ve recreated a version of this before too.

Working on hockey skills. If you couldn’t tell by now, Max is really into ghostbusters.

Weekend breakfast!

And bubbles.

Love.

Sunday = grilled vegetables.

AND!!! I made lobster rolls with the lobster that we got in our butcher box this month.

Connecticut style of course. It’s been three years to the day since we were in Maine on our own personal lobster roll tour.

Finished off the week with cookies from our favorite bakery!

My little painter!

This was Max’s test run to see if he can open and use his lunch box. Ha!

Ooooh these babies are good.

We got smoothie bowls for work lunch one day!

I guess this is what happens when you have a brother? Legos everywhere.

We got take out from gaucho. It was incredible, as usual.

The corn, vegetables and pulled pork are always the best! Plus, all the sauces.

There were a few GORG sunsets last week.

Hmmm wonder where she gets her love of cheese?

Croissants from my favorite local micro bakery!

We had a little pool day. It was so nice.

My summer queen!

Why are they so old. :(

Same old boring grilled veg! Just too good.

And a little mini golf date. Our first ever!

xo

This summer week!

It’s been a good one. Here are a few snapshots!

Avocado for toast.

Painting at grandmas.

Quick little turkey meat sauce with fresh basil.

Because I have a ton of it!

Got these at the nordstrom sale and I’m obsessed. The perfect house shoe!

These photos make me so happy. It’s like quintessential summer.

I’m torn between wanting time to move fast so we can get out of this situation, to not wanting summer to end, to just wanting to relish these days with them.

I mean!!

Okay, we’re good.

First french braids!! She is SO EXCITED. Sometimes I french braid my hair after I get out of the shower and she always asks if I “have my braids on.”

BFFs. Why is Max so old?! Like he is a KID now.

They seriously are the best of friends right now and when they are away from each for a little bit, they get so excited to see each other.

We tried the chicken sandwich from Morcilla!

And had the tomato peach salad.

Along with their gem salad which is just my absolute favorite.

Prettiest!

Here’s a quick meal I threw together for Eddie and myself. Grilled a bunch of veggies, mixed with brown rice, lots of toasted sesame oil and soy, a little feta.

Oh and an egg on top.

The best classic breakfast. Right?!

Our boring sunday grilled veggies! Are you sick of seeing these yet? We aren’t.

Boots are back.

This the salmon from ALDI that comes on a cedar plank. It was really good!

This looks weird but it’s a batch of toasted oat muesli I made to have for the week in overnight oats. There are figs in there too.

My little hockey player!

Hope you had a wonderful week! xo
