I have the best lineup of Thanksgiving drinks for you!

Thanksgiving weekend is my absolute favorite – and there are so many opportunities to entertain, get cozy around the fire or sip something delicious and decorate the tree!

I have so many options for you! There’s a few cocktails, some non-alcoholic options, hot drinks and more. While there are a few punch recipes, the rest are single serving cocktails and would be super easy to make for a small crowd.

What’s your go-to?! Almost every year I make the red apple cider sangria.

Everyone needs a little bourbon warmth in November!

So I’m here with your 2022 Thanksgiving cocktail! Oh hello.

The cranberry cinnamon whiskey sour has entered the chat and I am… welcoming it. It’s tangy, tart, a little spicy and refreshing all at the same time. I swear it’s possible.

I probably say it in the summer too, but this is my favorite cocktail season. All the warming flavors, the spices, the cinnamon, the ciders, the apple and cranberry – I could go on and on. I can turn practically any traditional cocktail into a fall version and this is no exception. A cranberry cinnamon whiskey sour coming right up!

I love the idea of this cocktail for Thanksgiving. It’s soul warming, yet a bit refreshing. It’s tart but not overwhelmingly sweet. It pairs nicely with all the traditional Thanksgiving dishes!

This whiskey sour is also embarrassingly easy.

Simple shake together the bourbon, lemon juice, cranberry juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour over crushed ice and cinnamon sticks, where the cinnamon will impart a little spice as it sits and make the drink extra holiday-ish.

Throw in an orange peel and some sugared cranberries if you’re feeling fancy!

Making one of these to cozy up by the fire and watch a show or read a book sounds like my ultimate fall dream. (more…)

New fall cocktail alert!

This is one of those cocktails that doesn’t taste like a cocktail… which is my favorite kind.

Yes, warning – you can’t even taste the salted caramel vodka in this! It tastes like a fizzy apple cider and it’s so incredible. My go-to this season with lots of crushed ice.

Okay I’m bring this cocktail to you straight from the comments section of this website. Oh yes. A few weeks ago, reader Beth left this comment:

“You loved orange crushes when you came to Delaware. One of our local restaurants does seasonal crushes and the fall one is an apple cider crush!! A-mazing…. Apple cider, apple Crown Royal, salted caramel vodka (or caramel vodka), and Sprite. At home, we ended up skipping the Crown Royal, still amazing.”

Um, thank you forever Beth!

When I tell you that I RAN out and bought the ingredients for this… oh my word. I am not exaggerating. It sounded so autumn-y and fantastic that I couldn’t wait to try it. And while I’ve made a honeycrisp crush before, this apple cider crush takes.the.cake.

Seriously, if you’re an apple cider fan you will LOVE this. I’ve already discussed serving it for Halloween and some of our fall parties.

This is how easy it is!

Apple cider. A few local farms have the most delicious apple cider. I always have some on hand in the fall.

Salted caramel vodka. It has been YEARS since I bought flavored vodka. I mean, truly – YEARS. I don’t use flavored vodka very much anymore but this is incredible. Tastes like dessert, but in a good way. I like the Stolichnaya or Smirnoff version.

Ginger ale… or seasonal seltzer. There’s a few options here that you can try! Ginger ale is the easiest. I find it’s the most delicious too. Classic ginger flavor pairs perfectly with cider. If you like a lot of spice and bite, do ginger beer instead. And if you have a seasonal seltzer – like this waterloo spiced apple (!!!), which is delicious – that also works! I like the seltzer option too because it adds fizz without sweetness.

Of course, you can do a little cinnamon sugar rim if you like and garnish with apple slices. It’s the cutest!

You can easily make this in a pitcher for a party too! Mix together the apple cider and vodka and refrigerate it until it’s time to serve. Pour glasses and top off with the ginger ale or seltzer.

Perfect holiday season cocktail, coming right up!

spiced orange gin and tonic

This spiced orange gin and tonic is icy cold and refreshing, in a snowy holiday kind of way. Spiced orange syrup, gin and all its botanical flavors and tonic water over ice. This is serious present-wrapping or Thanksgiving-cooking perfection.

sugar, orange peel, star anise

This time of year, I love making anything orange and spiced. Which is crazy, because I’m not a huge orange person. Like those chocolate oranges at Christmas that people would get in their stockings? Zero appeal to me. I do love the occasional chocolate covered citrus peel or even chocolate covered clementines, but only a bit. It’s never the flavor combo I’ll choose.

spiced orange syrup

But spiced orange cocktails? Okay, I’m sold. When the thought of spiced orange syrup is mixed with icy boozy tonic water, it sounds fab to me.

pouring tonic water in

A few years ago I shared these spiced orange spritzers and OH MY GOSH, they are heavenly. They are SO so delicious – a perfect treat for Thanksgiving morning, or even the day after. (However I will say, I’m a little partial to my tree trimming punch the day after Thanksgiving!).

spiced orange gin and tonic

These spiced orange gin and tonics are like that, but a bit more grown up and refreshing. No sparkling wine here, only gin. And tonic. And spiced orange syrup. Ha!

Oh plus a sprig of rosemary or something similar. To make it extra festive. (more…)

Prettiest cocktail on the block today!

I’d like an aperol spritz for every happy hour, from here on out! It’s beautiful and delicious and refreshing and wonderful.

Need I say more?!

pomegranate

Okay so if you’re sick of apple cider cocktails, I have the PERFECT drink for you. I mean, I absolutely love anything with apple cider. But I understand that not all of you do, and sometimes you just need a break from the cinnamony drink. Sometimes you want something more refreshing than warm. Something more citrusy and icy!

pouring aperol into a glass

Enter the pomegranate aperol spritz. The perfect flavor combination cocktail for your fall weekend, Halloween celebration or Thanksgiving dinner.

pouring pomegranate juice into a glass

This isn’t entirely new to me. Remember a few years ago when I made a winter aperol spritz with cranberry and rosemary?! That was my first foray into a flavored aperol spritz and I loved it.

And oh yes – I decided we most definitely needed a fall version.

Ironically, I have also made a spritz with apple cider! It’s delicious and wonderful.

But so is this!

pomegranate aperol spritz

I actually like this one more than the winter spritz.

And I love pomegranate so much more than cranberry! I love that pomegranate has that tart punch but is also fruity and juicy. Combined with the orange?! Oooooh it is SO good.

pomegranate aperol spritz

This is all you need for your pomegranate aperol spritz:

  • Aperol over ice. This is one of my favorite things! Of course I prefer crushed ice, but use what you’ve got!
  • A splash of pomegranate juice. I say around one to two ounces – based on your preference. Add one ounce and then taste. Add more if you’d like more pomegranate flavor punch!
  • Prosecco comes next! My absolute favorite. It’s SO good, and you don’t need to break the bank on a bottle.
  • Finally, a splash of seltzer to balance things out.

pomegranate aperol spritz

The end result is a refreshing and citrusy spritz. It’s so light and wonderful, but has that classic pomegranate flavor. Oh and can we talk about how gorgeous it is too?!

Just look at that aperol and pomegranate swirling together to create the most beautiful shade. I love it! (more…)
